On Saturday September 10, Los Angeles Matsuri Taiko will host a taiko workshop by renowned taiko master from Japan, Kiyonari Tosha at San Fernando Valley Japanese American Community Center, 12953 Branford Street, Pacoima, CA 91331.
Two sessions will be held on Saturday, Sept. 10, from 9 am- 1 pm, and 2 pm – 6 pm.
Lesson fee is $100 per person per session.
Sensei Kiyonari Tosha is is one of the founders of original Sukeroku Taiko (slant style) and has played taiko for 50 years now.
He is also tsuzumi master and player for Kabuki music and for nagauta (shamisen) musical performances. He is the lead taiko instructer at Miyamoto Taiko Studio, and the director of Nihon Taiko Dojo.
Many local and out-of-state taiko players in the United States is expected to come to this rare opportunity.
