2013 / Sogetsu ikebana members to gather in Los Angeles for national conference, April 26-30

20130425 Sogetsu Iemoto Live

Akane Teshigahara receives an ovation during a previous year's "Iemoto Ikebana Live" performance, during which the ikebana master uses an entire stage as her vase. For the first time, the production -- large enough to require a supporting cast of assistants -- will be staged in Los Angeles. (Sogetsu School)

The 9th North American Sogetsu Seminar, a national conference of Sogetsu Ikebana School, will be held at J.W. Marriott Los Angeles LA Live Hotel from Friday April 26 through Tuesday April 30.

For this special event, Iemoto (head master) Akane Teshigahara of Sogetsu’s headquarters in Tokyo will come to Los Angeles to not only give workshops, but also to  present the first Iemoto Ikebana Live performance in the U.S.

The sold-out event Iemoto Ikebana Live will be held on Saturday April 27, at 2:00 pm at the Aratani Japan America Theatre in Little Tokyo, Los Angeles.
