J-pop singer and songwriter Maii Arai will perform on Saturday, Oct. 12, at 2 pm, at Doizaki Gallery in the Japanese American Cultural and Community Center in Little Tokyo. This is free program.
Arai stage is a part of Samurai Geisha Fest (Oct. 5 -20), a mixed cultural event that introduces Japanese arts and entertainment to the world.
For more than three decades, a versatile songwriter Maii Arai’s compositions have been recorded and performed by many top 20 charting artists in Japan and the other Asian countries as well, and placed in many major brands’ TV commercials.
Maii seamlessly blends her deep roots in classical, jazz, blues and traditional Japanese music to create her own unique style, with expressions of love, brotherhood and spirituality, reaching to the heart of listeners. Her spirituality also allows her performances to reach people’s hearts and souls effortlessly bringing audiences together in a moment of oneness.
