Uyehara Travel in Los Angeles presents Itoman - Redondo Beach Sister City 10th Anniversary with Music Festival Tour from October 30 – November 6, 2024.
Tour fee is $1,950 per person plus air fare and taxes/surcharges, in double occupancy. 6 breakfasts, 4 lunches, and 4 dinners are included.
Since 2006 when Mayor of Itoman in Okinawa visited City of Redondo Beach, city officials and students visited each other cities. City of Redondo Beach officially voted resolution of the sister city with Itoman in July 2012, and City of Itokan officially voted resolution of the sister city with Redondo Beach in March 2013.
Tamiko Uyehara, owner of Uyehara Travel and leader of the sister city affiliation in both sides, organizes the sister city 10th anniversary with music festival tour. Redondo Beach Mayor Jim Light and Mrs. Light, and other dignitaries will join the 10th anniversary tour.
The music festival is scheduled for Sunday, November 3 at 2:00 p.m. at 500-seat Kukuru Hall in Itoman. The festival will feature the Island Crooners lead by Gerald Ishibashi from Los Angeles, and Medical Jazz Orchestra consisting of 10 medical doctors from Okinawa.
Tour itinerary are following:
Oct. 30: Arrive in Tokyo, stay at Villa Fontaine in Haneda Airport.
Nov. 1: Transfer to Naha, Okinawa from Haneda. City sightseeing tour including John Manjiro Statue, Peace Memorial Park, Himeyuri Memorial, Shuri Castle Festival, Shikina King’s Garden. Stay at Southern Beach Resort Hotel.
Nov. 2: Tour to the Northern area of Okinawa Island see the Manzamo Cape and Churaumi Aquarium. Stay at Maihana Wellness Resort.
Nov. 3: Visit the Ryukyu Pottery Village and the Zakimi Castle in morning. Music Festival at Kukuru Hall in afternoon. Music Festival will feature the Island Crooners lead by Gerald Ishibashi from Los Angeles and Medical Jazz Orchestra in Okinawa Stay at Southern Beach Resort Hotel.
Nov. 4: Visit the Gyokusendo Cave, and Itoman Museum. Stay at Southern Beach Resort Hotel.
Nov. 5: Free schedule and Taiwan optional tour. Stay at Southern Beach Resort Hotel.
Nov. 6: Transfer to Naha Airport. Return back to Los Angeles via Tokyo or Osaka.
Nov. 7: Arrive at Los Angeles
