The Eisner Intergenerational Orchestra Presents: A Los Angeles Fire Benefit Concert
A Symphony of Support: 200 Musicians Unite for a Free L.A. Fire Relief Concert
The public are invited to Saturday, May 17th at 7:00 pm at the Aratani Theatre in downtown L.A. for a free benefit concert featuring Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9.
Two hundred musicians—professional and amateur—will perform to raise funds for L.A.-area musicians affected by the recent fire.
Donations will go directly to those in need via the American Guild of Musical Artists and the Guitar Center Foundation. Presented by Heart of Los Angeles and the Eisner Foundation, performers include The Eisner Intergenerational Orchestra, members of the LA Opera Chorus, members of the LA Master Chorale, members of the Los Angeles Dream Orchestra, and professional musicians from Los Angeles and Orange County.
The Heart of Los Angeles Eisner Intergenerational Orchestra has been preparing for this annual concert since January, featuring Beethoven's Symphony No. 9. However, when the LA Fire broke out, many musical colleagues reached out to Daniel Suk, the orchestra's artistic director, expressing their sadness and asking, 'How can we help our fellow musicians in need?'
In response, Daniel reached out to Tony Brown, the CEO of Heart of Los Angeles, to discuss the possibility of turning the orchestra’s annual concert into a benefit performance to support those affected. Tony immediately gave the green light to the idea. Now, the concert has brought together 100 instrumentalists and 100 professional vocalists from all over Los Angeles and Orange County to contribute to this meaningful performance.
