Dear Readers of Cultural News,
As of October 30, 2025, we have raised approximately $29,000 since January 1, 2025. We kindly ask for your support to help us achieve our annual fundraising goal of $30,000 by the end of this year.
Cultural News is a dedicated community website serving Japanese culture enthusiasts in Southern California and Arizona. Our mission is to preserve Japanese cultural heritage for future generations through our digital archive.
Founded in July 1998 as a monthly tabloid newspaper, we transitioned to a digital weekly format in June 2020 in response to the Covid-19 pandemic. Our website has archived articles on Japanese cultural events since 2010.
While social networks like Facebook are useful for discovering community activities, their information is not always publicly accessible. To ensure broad access for individuals and Artificial Intelligence (AI), the dedicated community website of Cultural News remains essential.
To maintain our digital presence now and in the future, the Cultural News Association must raise approximately $30,000 per year. Your continued generosity will help us fulfill our mission and preserve the archive of Japanese cultural events for the next generation.
Thank you once again for your invaluable support.
Sincerely,
Shige Higashi
