4th/Central Cold Storage - City Planning Commission Hearing Toolkit
Summary: The City Planning Commission scheduled a public hearing wherein the Hearing Officer will make a recommendation about approving the final tract map and other entitlements of the Fourth and Central project. If these get approved, the project is one step closer to being approved by final decisionmakers: City Council.
Please join LTCC at the hearing!
Let your voice be heard!
Speak at the public hearing on Thursday, October 9th, 8:30am at City Hall
and/or send a letter with our template by 4pm on Monday, October 6th.
Background: The Fourth and Central Cold Storage project is a 7+ acre development project that proposes 1500+ market-rate housing units and an unspecified number of affordable housing units. The project proposes towers as tall as 30 stories- almost double the height of the tallest buildings in Little Tokyo. These luxury high-rise buildings do not integrate with/connect to its surrounding neighborhoods, make Little Tokyo unaffordable, and do not align with the community’s visions for a Sustainable Little Tokyo. For more information, go to littletokyola.org/4thcentral or check out LTCC’s folder.
Translation services: Japanese, Korean, and Spanish requested
Target audience:
Primary: Hearing officer on behalf of City Planning Commission
Secondary: Councilmember Jurado (CD14), LA City Planning staff & commission
