Join us Saturday, June 6, 2026, 2 p.m.–3 p.m. at the Little Tokyo Branch Library for a hands-on Yukata workshop led by certified kimono instructor Akane Mashimo from the Kyoto Kimono Institute. This in-person program welcomes adults and seniors and will be conducted in English and Japanese.
Participants will learn basic Yukata dressing and obi tying in a single session. The instructor will demonstrate simple bow styles and several obi techniques, and provide step-by-step guidance so attendees can practice during the workshop.
No special equipment necessary. You will only need a Yukata, a Hanhaba Obi, and two strings. Yukata and Obi will be available to registrants if they do not have one. No rental is required.
