LOS ANAGELES – NAGASAKI | LELA International Presents “Expressions of Peace” 4th Annual Exhibition in Los Angeles | Makery Gallery in Little Tokyo | August 3-30
LELA International announces the fourth annual “Expressions of Peace” exhibition at the Los Angeles Makery, 260 S. Los Angeles Street, Los Angeles, CA 90012, running August 3–30, 2026. This Los Angeles exhibition runs concurrently with the 47th “Annual Nagasaki 8.9 Peace Exhibition” at the Nagasaki Prefectural Art Museum, August 5–9, 2026, reflecting a transpacific collaboration promoting peace through art.
For 2026, LELA International sent 26 artworks to Nagasaki, while four works from Nagasaki appear in the Los Angeles exhibition.
The program includes an opening reception on Sunday, August 9, 3:00–5:00 p.m., featuring performances by Takeshi Kanemura, Malia Gallegos, and Yuki Hayashi Hammel.
A cyanotype workshop led by Cathy Immordino takes place Sunday, August 23, 2:00–5:00 p.m.
The closing reception is Sunday, August 30, 3:00–5:00 p.m., and includes a collage workshop taught by Aleka, Debra, Monica, and Susan.
LELA President Susan Karhoordy emphasizes that the exhibition is more than a show: it is a global movement for peace, unity, and hope. Artists and audiences are invited to share visions that inspire harmony and healing.
