The Clark Center’s spring exhibition (Feb 4 – Apr 28)  Wrathful Deities and Compassionate Bodhisattvas: Aides of the Buddhist Faith will showcase the diverse forms of aid through exquisite Buddhist sculptures and a rare bronze votive plaque (kakebotoke), ranging in dates from the 12th to the 14th century.

Also featured are sophisticated Buddhist hanging scrolls dated from the same period, as well as intriguingly painted saints and deities created during the 17th to the 19th century.

Wrathful Deities and Compassionate Bodhisattvas: Aids of the Buddhist Faith is curated by Sabine Neumann, Curatorial Assistant of the Clark Center.

The opening lecture by Sabine Neumann will be held on Sunday, Feb 5, at 2 pm. Space is limited. Reservation required.

Gallery hours: Tuesday through Saturday 12:30 – 5 pm. Closed on national holidays and during the month of August.

Admission: $5 for adults, $3 for students and active military service with valid ID. Children 12 and under free.

Weekly docent tours are held Saturdays at 1 pm and guided group tours can be arranged by calling the Center in advance at (559) 582-4915.
