Koriyama Children’s Choir was established in 1975 at Koriyama city in Fukushima prefecture, and now this chorus group is officially called FCT Koriyama Children’s Choir because they receive support from Fukushima Central Television station.

Consisting of approximately 30 children from 5 to 18-year old year, the FCT Koriyama Children’s Choir is becoming a music group which is often invited to national level choral events.

With the help of Japanese choral groups in Los Angeles and a Christian church in the Little Tokyo district of Downtown Los Angeles, an “Arigato from Fukushima” concert by Koriyama’s 20 children will be realized on Saturday afternoon, August 11, to coincide with the annual Nisei Week events in Little Tokyo.

The “Arigato from Fukushima” concert will be held at Centenary United Methodist Church, 300 South Central Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90013 on Saturday, August 11, at 2:00 pm. Admission is free, and doors open at 1:30 pm.

The concert is sponsored by Centenary United Methodist Church, Nikkei Choral Federation of Southern California, Nisei Week Foundation, Nanka Fukushima Kenjinkai, Consulate General of Japan Los Angeles, and Fukushima Central Television.
