Japan’s popular singer concert at a Little Tokyo temple, July 18, 1PM
Higashi Honganji Buddhist Temple in Little Tokyo presents Japan’s Hideki Sekijima solo concert on Sunday, July 18 at 1:00 pm at the temple, 505 East Third Street, Los Angeles, CA 90013.
Admission is free and open to the public.
Having completed a successful 30th anniversary tour throughout Japan, popular singer/songwriter, Hideki Sekijima will perform his second concert in Los Angeles.
He will be performing old Japanese favorite as well as his own compositions.
Born on November 3, 1954 in Arao City, Kumamoto Prefecture, Hideki Sekijima has been a singer/songwriter for over 30 years.
His major debut began on April 25, 1979 with the song, “Ajisai-dera” (The Temple of Hydrangea) under Teichiku Records.
In 1981, he switched record labels to Trio Records, releasing several songs that included “Kaze-no-Arupegio,” (Arpeggio of Winds) and “Utsuroi” (A Hollow Mind).
Since then, Hideki has written, recorded, and produced numerous records, CDs, and albums on his own.
He has toured throughout Japan and just celebrated his 30th Anniversary Tour in 2009.
He has also been a radio and TV host, and has written music for and even appeared in several movies.
He will be performing his hit song “Kairanjyayoka” in Brazil this fall.
