Hiroe Sekine has been performing and teaching jazz piano in the Los Angeles area for many years, and her two previous CD’s have received high acclaim from jazz critics in the US, and her music has been constantly played on jazz radios and National Public Radio.

For local jazz musicians, it is considered an honor to be invited to play on the outdoor stage of LACMA (Los Angeles County Museum of Art) Jazz Series concerts.

This coming Friday, October 14, she is playing there for the second time, and the entire performance will be broadcast later on KJZZ radio station throughout the US together with an in-depth interview with her.

Her group will include a well-known Japanese saxophone player, Kazuhiko Kondo, who will fly over from Japan to join Hiroe for this special occasion.

They will premier some of the tracks from Hiroe’s forthcoming new CD, which is produced by two-time Grammy winner, Russell Ferrante, like the two previous albums.

The band will also perform at Orange County’s Hoson House on Wednesday, October 12.
