2016 / Japan’s famous singer Saori Yuki meets press before benefit concert for language scholarship program

Japan’s famous singer Saori Yuki and his sister Sachiko Yasuda met local Japanese press on Oct. 27 at Miyako Hotel in Little Tokyo, Downtown Los Angeles.

The Aurora – Japanese Language Scholarship Foundation in Los Angeles will present the 2016 Saori Yuki and Sachiko Yasuda Aurora Benefit Concert on Saturday, Oct. 29 at 5:00 pm at Aratani Theatre in Little Tokyo, Downtown Los Angeles.

The event organizers Dr. Akiko Agishi, president of the Aurora Foundation, Dr. Hiroshi Sumiyama and Ichiro Yamazaki, board members of the Aurora Foundation, introduced Yuki and Yasuda to the press.

Yuki and Yasuda performed five concerts of Japanese children’s song in Los Angeles from 1995 through 2001. Yuki appeared at Hollywood Bowl as a guest singer for Pink Martini jazz ensemble in July 2013.

The Oct. 29 concert program includes Japanese songs and Japanese children’s songs.

Tickets of the Oct. 29 concert are $125, $100, $75, $55, $35.

The proceeds of the concert will be used for scholarship fund of Japanese language teachers and students who will become Japanese language teachers in the U.S.
