Japan Foundation Los Angeles on August 28, 2017
To mark the completion of three-month office renovation, the Japan Foundation, Los Angeles, reopens with a week-long celebration titled “Japan Week on the Miracle Mile & Beyond.”
All events are open to the public and free to attend, but some events require RSVP.

Monday, August 28 @7-9pm
*Japanese conversation café “Tea Time”
Converse over Japanese tea and snacks with native speakers and other learners of Japanese

Tuesday, August 29 @7-9pm
*Workshop “Japanese for Travel”
Learn Japanese vocabulary and basic expressions essential for traveling to Japan as well as updated information related travel around the country

Screen the film “The Red Turtle” by Studio Ghibli (Film has no dialogue)

“Matsuri” the Festival
Celebrate the reopening of Japan Foundation Los Angeles with special guest guitarist Toshi Yanagi of ABC’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live” and DJ Meishi Smile, free food and drinks will be offered, as well as kimono dressing and photo session by a professional photographer

*Meet & Greet with Artist Miyuki Yokomizo
Listen to a talk by artist Miyuki Yokomizo, as part of the traveling exhibition “Passage to the Future: Art from a New Generation in Japan” (August 11 – September 2)
