The Shoseian Tea House and Friendship Garden in Brand Park, Glendale

Sunday, January 21, 2018

The first event of the year 2018 at the Shoseian Tea House in Glendale will be the Family Fun Day on Sunday, Jan. 21, that is co-presented with the Japan Foundation, Los Angeles.

This will be a great event for children and parents, as the Friends of Shoseian will be holding two workshops for the kids:

One, at 11 AM, will focus on the tradition of crafting grasshoppers with palm leaves - easy to make and so realistic. The other, at 1 PM, will be a Japanese kite flying class.

In the afternoon, at 3 PM, there will be a very special performance of the Japanese Noh play. Master Michikazu Taneda honored by Japan as an important cultural asset in recognition of his degree of expertise in the art of Noh, will be visiting Glendale for this very special presentation.

Bring a picnic lunch is suggested - the Garden is a beautiful place for the family to spend the day. This program is free.
