2019 / Minyo in Los Angeles: Minyo association Matsutoyo Kai to showcase Japanese folk melodies, Dec. 1

Led by master “Minyo” singer and “Shamisen” player Mme. Matsutoyo Sato, minyo association the Matsutoyo Kai marks the 54th anniversary this year.

As a showcase of Japanese folk melody, the Matsutoyo Kai will presents the 54th anniversary recital with special guest from Japan, Iemoto Hisahi Sasamoto at Ken Nakamoka Memorial Community Center in Gardena on Sunday, Dec. 1, from 12:00 – 3:00 pm.

Minyo” literally means folk melody which has been practiced in Japan for a few hundred years.

The Matsutoyo Kai recital on Dec. 1 will celebrate the end of the year 2019 and welcome the coming new year 2020.

40 musicians of 6 groups will perform on the stage.

Tickets are $15 including lunch box.
