The Azuma Kotobuki Kai, Azuma Ryū Japanese dance group in Southern California, is celebrating its 25th year in Ventura County with a special recital.
Despite a global pandemic and cross-country moves for Mam. Azuma Kikusue, the group continues to thrive. The Kotobuki Kai will have 57 dancers, ages 4 to adult, in traditional costumes, performing a selection of classical and modern dances.
The recital will be held on Sunday, June 23, 2024, 2:30 p.m. at the Thousand Oaks High School Performing Arts Center, 2323 N. Moorpark Rd, Thousand Oaks CA 91360.
The program will be about 90 minutes long and will include two pieces with live musicians. After the recital, The Kotobuki Kai will have a short reception with dance group members.
Admissions are: adults for $15, youth (3-17) for $10, seniors (62+) for $10. Advance ticket purchase is recommended. Limited number of tickets will be available to doors.
