HIROSHIMA DAY 2026 Los Angeles | 81st Commemoration Service for Victims of Hiroshima & Nagasaki Atomic Bombing to be Held at Koyasan Buddhist Temple in Little Tokyo Sunday August 2, 2PM
LOS ANAGELES (July 18, 2026) – The American Society of Hirohima-Nagaski A-Bomb Survivors (A.S.A) announces that Koyasan Los Angeles Betsuin and A.S.A. will cohost the 81st Commemoration Service for the Victims of the Hiroshima-Nagasaki A-Bomb at Koyasan Los Angeles Betsuin aka Koyasan Buddhist Temple, 342 East 1st Street, Los Angeles, CA 90012, on Sunday, August 2, 2026, at 2:00 pm. Open to the public.
The Officiant of the Service will be Bishop Shunga Kiryu of Koyasan Temple Headquarters via a video address.
Guest Speakers will include:
- Mr. Junji Sarashina, President, A.S.A.
- Mr. Darrell Mih0, ASA Director, freelance photographer, videographer, and multimedia
- Ms. Emily Sarashina, Junji Sarashina’s granddaughter, who attended last year’s 80th commemoration service in Hiroshima.
Video messages from Hiroshima Mayor Matsui and Nagasaki Mayor Suzuki will be shown in the program.
