Japanese song “Kawachi Otoko Bushi” and Jazz-fusion pieces “One World” has been designated as the official dance pieces of 2012 Nisei Week Japanese Festival.
The two pieces choreographed by dance instructors Azuma Sumako II and Azuma Kikusue will be featured at the main street events of the Nisei Week which includes:
Grand Parade on Sunday, Aug. 12 at 5:30 pm along streets in Little Tokyo,
Ondo (Community Dance Celebration) and Closing Ceremony on Sunday, Aug. 19 at 4:00 pm on First Street between Central Ave. and San Pedro Street.
“Kawachi Otoko Bushi” was sang by Mitsuko Nakamura in 1989, and “One World” was composed by Japanese American Jazz ensemble Hiroshima.

Nisei Week dance practices for not only for “Kawachi Otoko Bushi” and “One World” but also for other popular songs such as “Tanko Bushi” and “Aizu Bandai San”, will take place at the plaza of the Japanese American Cultural and Community Center as the following schedule:
Mondays and Thursday, 7:00 – 9:00 pm
