Friends of Budokan of Los Angeles and Little Tokyo Service Center present “Big Budokan Bash” on Saturday, April 30, from 6:30 pm – 11:30 pm at the Nishi Hongwanji Buddhist Temple’s Kaikan building in Little Tokyo, downtown Los Angeles.

Individual donor tickets are $50 per person before April 15, and $60 at doors.

A special evening of entertainment, music, food, libation and “fun-raising” will be planned to celebrate the upcoming groundbreaking of the long-awaited Budokan of Los Angeles in Little Tokyo.  www.BudokanofLosAngeles.com

Featuring the live dance music from KOKORO, the night will also feature guest artists Asian Persuasion, Miko Shudo of the Bluesettes and Grateful Crane, Jeff Carter from Dynasty, Gary Moriguchi from Carry-On and Helen Ota from Cold Tofu and Grateful Crane.

Music from the 60’s, 70’s 80’s, funk, pop, jazz and top hits along with line dance instruction during the breaks will be provided by Beverly Toyama.

Some surprise guests will also be popping in on the fun as well…all to “Raise the Roof” and funds for the Budokan.

The Japanese American community is gathering from all over Southern California to support this much needed multi-purpose facility that will be used not only for sports, but for special events, meetings and conferences, educational classes, dance and performing arts, martial arts and exhibitions.

Groundbreaking will take place at the end of 2016, according to Little Tokyo Service Center, who is overseeing the project, and brings to Little Tokyo, a much needed facility which has been in planning and fundraising for 25 years.

This event is spearheaded by Patty Ito-Nagano, Wayne Nagao and Carol Tanita, and has raised so much excitement about this special benefit, that with still four weeks away, the event is almost sold-out.

There will be food provided by Maison Akira, Andy Nakano, Cherrystones, PopdUP, Nijiya Markets, and many, many more.
