LOS ANGELES – Following the overwhelming success of its first phase, the highly anticipated Japanese food festival, “Slime x Little Tokyo – The One Who Devours All J-Food,” is set to return for Phase 2 with even bigger attractions.
The collaboration between Little Tokyo and the popular anime series “That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime” aims to further promote Japanese food culture, featuring an exclusive new illustration and exciting rewards for participants.
A Celebration of Japanese Cuisine and Anime
Phase 1 of the event, held in autumn 2024, attracted a large number of anime and food enthusiasts. Now, the festival is back with an expanded lineup, offering visitors a unique opportunity to enjoy delicious Japanese cuisine while engaging with their favorite characters from the hit anime series.
“That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime,” based on an online novel, has gained massive popularity across various media, including manga and television animation. Its 2022 feature film, “That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime the Movie: Scarlet Bond,” performed impressively at the global box office, debuting at eighth place in the U.S. during its opening weekend. The franchise continues to gain traction, with its third season ranking high among U.S. streaming audiences.
Exclusive Merchandise and Stamp Rally Rewards
As part of the festival, visitors who order select dishes from any of the 11 participating restaurants in Little Tokyo will receive a randomly selected sticker featuring the new illustration along with a button pin—a fan-favorite collectible from Phase 1.
Additionally, attendees who collect three or more stamps from participating restaurants will qualify for a festival-exclusive acrylic keychain, which will be shipped later to U.S. residents.
Life-sized character cutouts from the anime will also be displayed at the restaurants, offering fans the perfect photo opportunity.

About 'That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime'
Commonly known as “TenSura,” the anime follows a protagonist who is reincarnated as a slime monster in an alternate universe. Using newfound abilities, the protagonist forms alliances and builds a thriving society with their wit and courage.
Since its debut as a web novel by author Fuse, the series has expanded into a multimedia franchise, selling over 45 million copies worldwide across novels, comics, and spin-offs. The anime’s first season aired in 2018, followed by a second season and spin-off series, “The Slime Diaries,” in 2021.
