Step into a world of vibrant flowers, sacred rituals, and timeless traditions as we celebrate Hanamatsuri, the Festival of Flowers. Witness the breathtaking hanamido shrine, take part in the serene kambutsu ritual, and immerse yourself in the rich spiritual heritage of Buddha’s birth.
Join us for the opening ceremony on Saturday, April 5, at 11:00 am, where priests from six Little Tokyo temples will chant sutras, offer prayers, and share blessings in this profound celebration.
While you're here, explore an exquisite exhibition presented in collaboration with the Ikebana Teachers Association of Southern California, featuring rare traditional Japanese bamboo baskets from the Joe and Etsuko Price Collection.
Don’t miss this unique opportunity to connect with history, culture, and community in one of Los Angeles’s most cherished traditions!
This project is supported in part by the Department of Cultural Affairs and the Henri & Tomoye Takahashi Charitable Foundation.
