Our hearts are so full Thank you to everyone who came out to FandangObon and helped bring this gathering to life. From the artists and altar makers to the dancers, musicians, volunteers, costume team, and every single community member who showed up—you are the spirit of FandangObon.

This festival is about honoring traditions, remembering loved ones, and building new connections across cultures and generations. Seeing the plaza filled with music, dance, color, and joy reminded us once again of the power of community. None of this would be possible without your energy, creativity, and love.

We are deeply grateful to walk this journey with you, and we can’t wait to continue growing together. Thank you for making this year’s FandangObon so special!

Thanks to our partners for their support! @golittletokyo @sustainablelittletokyo @jamuseum @jaccc_la @ltsc.cdc @la_littletokyo

This isn't just a festival - it's a ceremony, an invocation, and act of perseverance.

Rooted in ancestral traditions and cultural sustainability, FandangObon brings us together in one circle where music, dance, memory, and possibility become medicine.

Join us at 4 p.m. to share in new opening ritual with special guests!

Great Leap’s FandangObon is an evolving gathering of Japanese, Mexican, African and Sufi Muslim music and dance traditions to deepen relations and cross-cultural solidarity, and share strategies for place-keeping and environmental knowledge that will sustain our communities into the future in LA and beyond.

Come back into the circle. Learn new dances and celebrate classics with us!
