JACCC, 4th floor, Aug 13-14, 10 am – 5 pm
Samurai Store International will return to Nisei Week, exhibiting suits of armor made by the artists of Marutake Sangyo from Kagoshima, Japan.
Known as the armorers for the Japanese entertainment industry, Marutake Sangyo's pieces have been featured in Akira Kurosawa's films and NHK Taiga Dramas, but also grace the collections of individuals and institutions around the world.
Each suit of armor is painstakingly crafted by hand, using traditional methods and materials. Samurai Store International is the only authorized international dealer of Marutake Sangyo's art, and is honored to be able to share it with the Los Angeles community.
The exhibition will be on August 13 -14, 4th floor of JACCC (Japanese American Cultural & Community Center) located at 244 South San Pedro Street, Los Angeles, CA 90012.
