Japan’s famous entertainment company Johnny and Associate sends their popular teenage pop-group “Bishonene” (Beautiful Boys) to Nisei Week events in Los Angeles on August 10 and 11.

The Johnny and Associates is one of the most influential entertainment companies in Japan for several decades. More than 300 boy singers are called “Johnny's Junior” and under the management of the Johnny and Associates.

Johnny Kitagawa, president and founder of the Johnny and Associates, was born in the U.S. and his father, Rev. Teido Kitagawa was a Buddhist missionary assigned to Koyasan Buddhist Temple in Little Tokyo, Los Angeles in 1930s.

Johnny Kitagwa passed away at 87-year old on July 9 in Tokyo.

Bishonen appearances at the Nisei Week was arranged through the Koyasan Buddhist Temple this year.
