2023/8/19-20: Nisei Week Cultural Exhibit: Bonsai, Calligraphy, Dolls, Sashiko textile at Japanese American Cultural & Community Center

The Nisei Week Foundation will be hosting a variety of activities across two weekends (8/12-13 & 8/19-20) in celebration of the Annual Nisei Week Japanese Festival. As part of the activities, the Japanese American Cultural & Community Center (JACCC) will present a variety of traditional Japanese art exhibitions for people of all ages to enjoy. The exhibitions are free and open to the public.

 

Saturday, August 12 & Sunday, August 13

Ikebana Flower Arrangement by the Southern California Ikebana Teachers Association
10 am – 4 pm at Doizaki Galley

Tea Ceremony with Urasenke Tea School

Japanese Dolls by Hirofumi-Kai
10 am – 4 pm at Cultural Room (5th floor of JACCC)

Japanese Ceramics by the California Japanese Ceramic Arts Guild
10 am – 4 pm at Suite 502 of JACCC building

Spotlight: Ramen Burger
11 am – 4 pm at Isamu Noguchi Plaza
For the 10th anniversary of the original Ramen Burger, Keizo Shimamoto, JACCC’s Director of Culinary Events, will bring back his famed novelty creation to JACCC during Nisei Week. Ramen Burger at Nisei Week is sponsored by Day-Lee Foods, Inc. In-kind support is provided by Camp Chef.
