Joann Shin Cordiero Statement
I am honored to serve as the 2024 Nisei Week Foundation President. Taking on this role is deeply personal, as Nisei Week has a special place in my heart. In 1996, I had the amazing opportunity to serve as Nisei Week Queen, and I’m forever grateful for the meaningful experiences and the incredible support and mentorship I received from the organization and the community. To volunteer in this role as foundation president is an opportunity that I take with great responsibility, and I look forward to working alongside a dedicated team of volunteers to plan the 82nd Nisei Week Japanese Festival.
