Honoring Ancestors/Celebrating Family History

Pacific Asia Museum Family Day TaikoThe Free Family Festival on October 30 will be a pan-Asian celebration of fun performances, crafts, demonstrations and activities for the whole family, presented by the cultural Arts Councils of Pacific Asia Museum. Hours are 12 noon – 4:00 pm.

Admission to the entire museum, including special exhibitions such as China Modern: Designing Popular Culture 1910-1970 will be free.

The museum’s Japanese, Himalayan, Pakistani and Chinese Arts Councils will be providing crafts, demonstrations, snacks and performances.

With the theme of “O-bon,” Pacific Asia Museum’s Japanese Arts Council will present O-bon dance, taiko performance, and uchiwa (flat) fan making table.

Children are welcome to wear their Halloween costumes, or Asian attire.

Held about three times a year, Saturday afternoon Family Festivals are some of the museum’s most popular events.
