For a dozen years, the US Sumo Open, North America’s premiere sumo competition, has been held all over Los Angeles, and this year, the US Sumo Open returns to Little Tokyo in downtown Los Angeles on Saturday, Sept 22.
The 12th Annual US Sumo Open will be held at the Japan American Cultural & Community Center, on Noguchi Plaza, 244 South San Pedro Street, Los Angeles, CA 90012.
Tickets are $20 for general, $10 for pre-teens, $40 for VIP reserved seating (first two rows).
Gates open at 12 pm (food & drink on sale). Competition begins at 1 pm.
There will be 40 elite sumo wrestlers expected to compete. They are from 10 countries such as USA, Canada, Mongolia, Russia, Bulgaria, Brazil, Tonga, Tajikistan, Egypt and Poland.
Female divisions will also be held for women sumo wrestlers
