On Saturday, September 10th, an event titled “Cross That Bridge – Bridging Communities by walking across the 1st Street Bridge” will be held from 9:30 am by FandangObon.

It’s a prequel to the annual FandangObon event on October 8th and 9th. The walk will start at Self Help Graphics & Art, a community arts center in Boyle Heights, then walk over the 1st Street Bridge and end at Zenshuji.

This event will be an opportunity to learn about our Boyle Heights neighbor, Self Help Graphics & Art, the 1st Street Bridge and the LA River.

At Zenshuji, Kojima Sensei will talk about the recent trip to Cuba with some photos he took there.

The event will close with Nobuko Miyamoto teaching a new dance for the FandangObon, “I Dream a Garden”, plus a snack with shiso from the Zenshuji garden!

You are all invited to join and enjoy a Saturday morning walk from Boyle Heights to Little Tokyo with friends.
