Pasadena Buddhist Temple will be one of 22 stops at Pasadena’s ArtNight on October 11th. ArtNight is a free evening of art, music and entertainment at Pasadena’s arts and cultural institutions.
The Buddhist Temple is a shuttle stop on the Northwest route. There will be ample free parking in the lot to catch the shuttle.
The Temple will feature “The Invisible Tea House” with Side Street project’s artist-in-residence, Alan Nakagawa.
This event will feature an evening of multimedia experiences and discussions surrounding the history of the Japanese tea ceremony at the Pasadena Temple. Pasadena Temple’s tea house was donated to the Huntington Library and Botanical Garden which has restored it and has it open for display to the public.
Included will be viewings of historic photos, and rare and untold stories by Sensei Jose Salcedo, resident Ikebana and Japanese Tea Ceremony instructor. Short films and discussion will be held at 7:00 and 8:30 PM.
