Two-hour multimedia kimono dressing presentation will be held at the Performing Arts Center of Irvine Valley College on Sunday, Feb. 8 at 2:00 pm.

The kimono event is named “Experience the Treasures of Japan: Kimono Festival” and is hosted by the Irvine Rotary Club in partnership with the City of Irvine, Irvine Valley College and the Irvine Chamber of Commerce.

The kimono presentation will be conducted by 50 people from the Nihon Waso Gakuen Kimono Dressing Academy in Osaka. The kimono academy will return to Irvine for the first time in 23 years.

Including wine reception and taiko performance, tickets for the kimono event cost $50 per person and $30 for seniors and students. The proceeds of the event will be donated to victims of the devastating 2011 Japanese earthquake and tsunami.

On Sunday, Feb. 8, the door will open at 12:45 pm, wine reception and silent auction will start at 1:00 pm, and the kimono show will begin at 2:00 pm.
