by Sanae Suzuki + Merrihew’s Sunset Gardens
Learn how to use medicinal herbs in 3 different ways.
About this event
Join us for an end of the summer workshop in herbalism!
Learn how to make 3 different herbal infusions:
- Oil for skin (moisturize)
- Toner for skin (refresh and hydrate)
- Tea for supporting stomach/spleen/pancreas (late summer organs in Chinese medicine)
Introduction on how to make organic herbal skin remedies (oil and toner) for after summer sun + medicinal herbal tea to help you rejuvenate and calm your mind after a busy summer.
Your skin is your largest organ and shows the first signs of your health.
Learning to make your own herbal skin care and tea is safe and effective for your skin, physical, and mental health. You can even grow most of the herbs at home!
Come find out how these herbs benefit you while tasting medicinal tea that supports the stomach, spleen, and pancreas, which are connected to late summer in Chinese medicine. Late summer supports autumn’s organs of lungs and large intestine next season to prevent cold, flu and even covid.
WORKSHOP WILL BE LEAD IN OUR OUTDOOR CLASSROOM NEXT TO THE CHICKEN COOP 🙂

Sanae Suzuki, BFRP: https://sanaesuzuki.com/
Author, Holistic Nutritionist, Bach Flower Registered Practitioner, Herbalist, Yoga Instructor, Aromatherapist, Shiatsu Massage Therapist, Jikiden Reiki Practitioner, Animal Reiki Practitioner, Animal Communicator
Sanae is a whole health practitioner and counselor for plant-based holistic macrobiotic nutrition, nature, art and animal family care.
She is originally from Nagoya, Japan. Her passion for learning about alternative, holistic medicine, and plant-based macrobiotic nutrition began when she was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in 1993.
This illness challenged her to consider the relationships between her lifestyle, attitude, food choices, and how nature connects with her physical, emotional, and spiritual state. She began learning more about natural, plant-based nutrition for herself and survived not only her ovarian cancer but also a near-fatal car crash in 2001 and stage IV lymphoma cancer in 2017.
She enjoys growing organic vegetables, medicinal herbs, and native plants in her garden and foraging for the plants in the wild.
Sanae and her husband, Eric Lechasseur, currently reside in Santa Monica and North Fork, California, with their dogs and two rescued cats.
